If I remember well, libXp.so.6 is introduced in Xfree86 3.3.2 and a number
of people running Xfree86 3.3.1 had this very same problem with java. Are
you sure your Xfree86 version is 3.3.2? I have 3.3.2-1 and it works, so
maybe you'll have to upgrade your Xfree86 system a bit.
