Hi! I have a Linux libc 5.4.46 and glibc 2.0.7 System. Where the main library is the libc 5. The Distribution was SuSe's one (serveral time ago :-)). Now when I start the glibc port, I get the following message: ... > java hello.world /opt/Java/JDK/bin/checkVersions: /tmp/ldd.out.925: Permission denied <program name unknown>: error in loading shared libraries /lib/libc.so.6: cannot open shared object file: Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden (-> after file: file or directory not found) The JDK is installed under root. ;-). The Libc 5 port works fine. Oh, one thing to add: ..... > ldd libjava.so libm.so.6 => /usr/i586-pc-linux-glibc2/lib/libm.so.6 (0x4006e000) libdl.so.2 => /usr/i586-pc-linux-glibc2/lib/libdl.so.2 (0x40087000) libc.so.6 => /usr/i586-pc-linux-glibc2/lib/libc.so.6 (0x4008b000) /lib/ld-linux.so.2 => /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x00000000) Ciao! -------------------------------------------------------- -> E-Mail: Sven Werner <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sven Werner <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> -> www : http://www.ping.de/sites/hawaii-datteln --------------------------------------------------------
