You may have had Kaffe installed which resulted in the library complaint. Do a "which java" to see if you are running Kaffe (it will be /usr/bin/java rather than /usr/local/jdk...). Uninstall Kaffe and uninstall libc5 if this is true. That should get you running. Caveate: I'm running Redhat on Intel platforms. If this experience doesn't apply on Sparc, I apologize for my ignorance. Douglas Toltzman
