Take a look at http://www.classpath.org/. Paul Fisher and Jim Blair
have been hammering out GTK+ peers for a few months now. Not sure
just how far they are from done, but Paul's threading modification to
GTK+ may get into the main tree sometime in the near future and their
current work is being done with the JDK 1.1.7 native threads from
Blackdown.
