Hi all,

While Karl and Steve are out of town, I wanted to let you all know there
has still been some action fixing bugs in the jdk. All of these bug fixes
are undergoing testing and should appear in the next x86 release (given
there are no problems).

Here is what is fixed so far:

- blocking on stdin, stdout, and stderror that causes ready threads not to run
  (a Sun bug)

- deadlocks happening in the finalizer thread with various other threads
  holding locks (a Sun bug).
This fixes hangs in startup of NetBeans 2.0 Beta and FreeBuilder

- X11 Graphics drawstring cross thread corruption (a Sun bug)

- Missing or incorrect KeyPressed events (a Sun bug)

- Workaround for Motif bug that causes various seg-faults (a motif bug)

- List fix to allow deletion of item 0

- getlocalhost fix

- fix for JNI native call problems (affects PowerPC port only)

We on the powerpc side have already made a number of fixes available in a
v2a release. We are planning a v2b release to include the remainder of
them.

As soon as Steve, and Karl get back and more testing is done, I am sure
most if not all of these bug fixes will make in into v3 for x86 and Sparc.

Please let me know if you have any questions reguarding this fixes/bugs.

Thanks,

Kevin B. Hendricks
