I got a statement from Vania Joloboff regarding
the native thread port of the Linux JDK prepared
by OpenGroup. See
http://www.gr.opengroup.org/java/jdk/linux
Summary: the archives are ready for distribution,
but they are waiting for confirmation of annual
license renewal from SMI. They will not make
source diffs publicly available.
I specificly asked for making diffs available to
the group maintaining the JDK port at Blackdown.
Maybe somebody from that group should contact
them directly. I personally will be very happy
about any JDK w/o green_threads, but it would be
much better if we do not get yet another port and
code base for Linux. It is bad enough the SMI is
not willing to maintain a Linux target.

P.S.: some of the above might be worth a FAQ entry.
