Hi - I'm pretty knew to Linux and this list and am trying to get a large pure Java IDE up and running under the Blackdown JDK1.1.6 using Swing 1.0.3 components. I'm using Slackware 2.0.0 (I think) with XFree86 3.1.1 (again I think) and using the Blackdown v2 libc5 version. The system comes up okay but experiences problems with Swing menus and popups such as duplicate menu item activations and inability to highlight pop up menu items. Anyone able to point me on the right track ? Do I need the glibc v3 JDK ? Is my Linux hopelessly out of date ? Thanks in advance !
