Hi, for a few days now, I have noticed that java and javac processes running on my linux box get re-niced to very low priorities all the time, down to 16 or 20. This makes big compiles verrrry slow. I am not aware (obviously) of any changes I made that could affect this. I am also not too sure whether this only affects Java or other executables also. The behaviour appears with kernels 2.0.34 and 2.0.36. Anyway, if somebody thinks this sounds familiar, I'd be happy to hear about your experiences with this! If this is a non-Java problem, I'd also be happy to be shoved in the right direction instead of simply being flamed :) Thanks, Helge -- Helge Wilker @work: (and mailing address) 220 Keokuk Street ABT Corporation Petaluma, CA 94952 1353 Redwood Way phone +1 707 762 4064 Petaluma, CA 94954 mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] +1 707 793 8300 ext. 3307 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
