I think the DEMON FTP site is a couple days behind because of Easter Hols.
(The bandwidth is restricted at the DEMON homepages, hence the FTP site
is better (when DEMON decides to upload files!))
I suggest you install ``WinZip'' and jump to my home pages
`www.xenonsoft.demon.co.uk/software' and download the file directly.
WinZip takes care of the format TAR file inside a GNU ZIP
The reason why TAR.EXE is that you did not uncompressed (GUNZIP) the ftp file.
Hence it think it's the wrong format.
Use WinZip instead, smarter, nicer, better
BTW: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
is a fake email address just to stop the spammers sending me junk mail,
remove the `NOWAY-NOWAY' bit.
One other thing
When you unpack the distribution
Copy the `src\LICENSE-Xsql` to the place where you are running Xsql from.
i.e where `Xsql.bat' is installed (on Windows NT systems).
I have discovered that there is a still bug in the program.

Peter,
I downloaded 'Xenon-SQL' from the ftp site ('xsql-2_2_9_8_tar.tar' - which
seemed to be the newest version yet was named differently than I would have
expected if it were version '2.3.5.8') but all of the utilities I've used on
the file (i.e. WinZip, tar, etc.) tell me that it is corrupt. For example:
C:\Data\Download\xsql>tar -t -f xsql-2_2_9_8_tar.tar
C:\DATA\DOWNLOAD\XSQL\TAR.EXE: Hmm, this doesn't look like a tar archive.
C:\DATA\DOWNLOAD\XSQL\TAR.EXE: Skipping to next file header...
C:\DATA\DOWNLOAD\XSQL\TAR.EXE: only read 6412 bytes from archive
xsql-2_2_9_8_tar.tar
C:\Data\Download\xsql>
Is there really something wrong with the file, or am I doing something
wrong?
Regards,
sparky
ps: I originally sent mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] but it
was returned as undeliverable.
