What is going on with JDK 1.2 as far as a stable full release is concerned? Is there a technical hold up, or is porting it really this slow?

I've asked Sun this 2x and Blackdown about 4x, and never gotten a response, so I'll just keep asking. I don't think its THAT time consuming to where you can't send out a generic email to all the people that ask you this every day.
