That is not really true - Yes, passing the JCK is extra work but getting
the thing to be stable has been the real problem.  Note that the pre-release
has *many* problems, including things with native threads, green threads,
the JIT, etc.  Most of these are not JCK issues (the JCK tests that the
results of the JDK matches so that it is "compatible" it does little to
directly test reliability other than some of the tests are long and complex
and thus an unreliable port may not be able to complete the test without
crashing/hanging/etc)

I would not say that Sun has jumped into Linux with both feet but they
have been helpful and we would not have had the pre-release done as quickly
as it was without their support.
