Hi Jeffery,

In general, version 1.1 of Simplicity for Java has full support for Java2.
It runs solid and very fast on Solaris and Windows95/98/NT.

The Linux JDK 1.2 pre-v1 is remarkably reliable for a prerelease (a credit
to the blackdown porting team). There are still, though, issues yet to be
resolved with library conflicts. Depending on which Linux distribution you
are using, you may have a better or worse chance of being able to use the
prerelease. (It was built on Debian 2.1, and you have a good chance of
success if you are using that.)

So, in short, if you are able to successfully install the JDK 1.2 pre-v1 on
your computer and run the Java demo applications, Simplicity for Java should
run quite nicely.

If you cannot get JDK 1.2 pre-v1 to work, I encourage you to download the
official jdk1.1.7v1a release. With this JDK, Simplicity for Java runs
extremely fast and is rock solid.
