that might actually be a good thing... unless what you want to benchmark is
pure low level math or number crunching... in which case I ask why java. The
Volano benchmarks, imho, make for a good test of JVM sped and stability
because they closely model what java is being used for in many real world
situations. (aside from chat servers, where it exactly models the real world
use ;)  Unless there is something particular to their test bucket which
forces multi system testing there is nothing in the general sense of a 
client-server model that says you have to use multiple machines, actually
running it all on one is kinda nice because it gives you the constant overhead
of the networking stack, but none of the variables of the actual network
traffic. (yeah loopback!)

whatever you decide to use I'm sure we'd all like to hear the results....
