I am going to take this opportunity to give a bit of information about
NetBeans Developer. www.netbeans.com

Within the month (so by the end of this week) we will be releasing the
public beta of our 3.0 product. Currently, for those bleeding-edge addicts,
you can download pre-beta Developer 3.0 from our EAP (Early Access Program)
site: www.netbeans.com/eap.html Developer is implemented completely in java
and is by far the most feature rich IDE available for true cross platform
development.

Developer 3.0 Entry includes:

* Advanced Swing support for design of user interfaces; our Form Editor
generates exceptionally clean code with no special comments or proprietary
classes.
* New, faster editor with syntax coloring supports time-saving functionality
like dynamic source code completion.
* New Object Browser allows you to filter through and then browse your
hierarchy of Packages, Objects and Object Members.
* Multi-threaded debugger allows you to set watches, threads and breakpoints

* Auto-update to dynamically upgrade the IDE with new features

Further modules are available through Pro and Enterprise editions that allow
for integration with JNDI, JDBC, CORBA, RMI, EJB, XML, JAR packaging,
version control, Servlets/JSP.

I am running the current EAP build for all of my development. Everything
works with the jdk1.2p2 (after fixing the font issue, see list archives for
the fix -- search on 'font').

The website will be updated when the public beta is released, but I would
encourage all of you interested to take the time to join our EAP list (which
you may join now), you will have access to the most recent builds and it
will hopefully provide another channel for feedback from java developers.

Cheers,
Chris LeDantec
