Hi folks,
I did read the Known Bugs and Problems page, and installed the URW
fonts as directed, but I'm still getting errors such as
Font specified in font.properties not found [--zapf
dingbats-medium-r-normal--*-%d-*-*-p-*-adobe-fontspecific]
etc., etc.
My SuSe 6.1 system actually has more fonts than in the tar file I
downloaded. But I installed the tar file contents anyway into
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/URW.
My /etc/XF86Config file contains the following files section.

FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi:unscaled"
FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/100dpi:unscaled"

FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/URW"
FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Speedo"
FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc"
FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi"
FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/100dpi"

The only difference is that the URW and Type1 lines are reversed from
the example on http://www.gimp.org/fonts.html .
I tried reversing those two lines but it didn't have any noticeable
effect.
I am not including my /usr/local/jdk1.2/jre/lib/font.properties file
for the sake of conserving bits. It's unchanged from the
distribution.
So I'm lost. Any ideas what I'm forgetting or doing wrong?
