I also had this problem on a sun, the only workaround I found was to
directly set this display var, if you work on <hugo> set DISPLAY to
hugo:0.0.
Or you run the Prog remote from another station, and forgot to set the
DISPLAY var. Or you  made a: su - and forgot to set the DISPLAY var or the
user root has not the right to connect to your XServer.
