These things aren't perfect yet (I've noticed this on my own server).

Try using green threads (export THREADS_FLAG=green) or turning off the JIT.
(-Djava.compiler=).  Both of these things increased my stability with 1.2.2RC4
to 100% (as opposed to such unexplained crashes overnight while I wasn't
watching)
