SMP ok?

Hi,
Although there's a note on Sun's site about the Linux JDK not being
trustworthy with multiprocessor setups, I was wondering if anyone had any
experience with this.
I'm running RH 6.1 (the Gentus release) with SMP kernel 2.2.15 (or
thereabouts, I think), and want to get the JDK 1.2.2 running.
