I'm seeing a couple of problems with modeless dialogs. 1. These dialogs are "stuck" to the parent window. i.e. when you move the parent frame the dialog moves too. 2. If you minimize the parent window, the dialog minimizes with it, and it you then bring the window back up the dialog is now blank. 3. The dialog causes intermittent hangs of the Java VM. I am using native thread, and glibc version 2.1.2. Has anyone else seen anything like this? Has anyone else found a way around it? Modeless dialogs have been problematic on all of our UNIX ports If it is a core problem with Motif or something like that I'll work around it, but I'd like to know for sure.
