Well I sure know it's a good thing; we finally have a JVM with a generational and
incremental garbage collector in Linux.
IBM's JDK 1.3 was fast in terms of raw execution speed, but the GC wasn't
advanced and on the client side Swing didn't *feel* fast (at least not on my
box). Plus, so far Sun's seems to be more stable than IBM's; at least with
the apps I'm running.
