Hi,
I've been reading the FAQ and the Blackdown site about Native threads, and
I'm having trouble getting the Native threads package for jre 1.1.8 under
Intel linux. The web page claims 1.1.8 to have the native threads support
built in on one section of the web page:
http://www.blackdown.com/java-linux/docs/support/faq-release/FAQ-java-linux-4.html#native-threads
http://www.blackdown.com/java-linux/docs/support/faq-release/FAQ-java-linux-2.html#extra-native-binaries
But when you download the jre, there are no files supporting the native
threads, and there is no file of the form j*-native.tar.* on the mirror
sites for the 1.1.8 jre. (linux version found at
ftp://metalab.unc.edu/pub/linux/devel/lang/java/blackdown.org/JDK-1.1.8/i386/v1/
)
I also read somewhere that the 1.2 native threads library was back-ported to
1.1.8, but that package (*-native.tar*) was not located at the 1.1.8 or the
1.2.2/rc4 location either.
I tired running the 1.1.8 jre with the -native flag, and it just quits, and
I tried putting the 1.1.7_v3 j*-native.tar* file onto my 1.1.8 install, and
it just traps out.
Can anyone help? I really need the 1.1.8 jre with native threads support
for the product I am working on.
Thanks,
Andrew
