OJI does not require a JVM based on Sun's code.  IIRC japhar had an
OJI plugin at some point.

That's a somewhat naive interpretation of the license:  Basically it's
like most contracts you have to sign in normal business, you can quit
your job at your company and go working for one of its competitors --
but you can't integrate your old company's technology/code in your new
company's product.  Given the difference between e.g.  HotSpot, Kaffe
and Japhar it's unlikely that you get in legal trouble unintentionally.
