java.net.MalformedURLException: unknown protocol: https

I put de .jar file in my ~/.netscape/java/lib dirtecory, and added the line :
security.provider.1=com.sun.net.ssl.internal.ssl.Provider
in the ~/.netscape/java/lib/security/java.security file
But it seems it still doesn't recognices the https. I also wonder why the netscape crashes instead of
advising me about the problem.
Any suggestions???
I still don't know much about java and i'm becoming desperate.
Anyway, thank you very much for your previous answer....

I'm new in this mailing list and don't know much about Java. My problem
is that I need to access to a secure web page wich needs the JavaPlugin.
But when I try to acces it, the hole Netscape crashes!!! The
plugin_stack.trace file says https is not supported. I'm using the
JavaPlugin1.2.2, Redhat 6.2, and Netscape 4.72.The https is not supported under Java2, but you can download a new api for
SSL and TLS encrypted sockets supporting https.The API is called JSSE (Java Secure Socket Extension) and you can download
it at:http://java.sun.com/products/jsse/
Good Luck!
