Greetings, >From my reading of the Sun docs, augmented with some experimentation on a TurboLinux J system, it looks like there's no way to get double-byte characters via native Input Method Editors (IMEs) on Linux in Java 1.1 or Java2 environments. Can that possibly be true? If so, that seems like an awfully big limitation to me. What do people do get complex characters into their Java/Linux apps? Use their own IME, coded in Java or calling native code? Port a non-native IME to Linux? Cut and paste?
