Well I've been playing with this before Sun released their Jdk1.3 with
HotSpot - and it was incredibely slow. (Bp6 2x570MHz jdk1.2.2rc4)
But to make it run I had to add a lot of extra swap space - I've had
128MB of RAM & I had to have 256MB of swap and after a couple of minutes
it went up. I suppose with hotspot the situation should be much better, but
I've not tried this yet (still using my favourite 400KB xfte editor :)
as all text editors in java are too slow for me).
