You only have to symlink javaplugin.so.

Ignore this message for now.  Just go to a page that uses applets
(e.g. http://mindprod.com/ConverterNative.html) and you should
see messages[1] like

        Create instance called in JavaPluginFactory5!!!!!!!!
        initilizing the java plugin instantance 

and a running applet.
