I'm having a problem getting the plugin to verify a signed applet. The
applet
was signed with a RSA certificate. Unsigned applets seem to work fine.
Changing
the ~/.java.policy file to trust this RSA certificate works fine as
well. The same
applet works correctly on Win98 and WinNT4.
The actual error is "Java Plug-in Security Warning" "Unable to verify the
certificate - code will be treated as unsigned." And in the stack trace is
a CertificateException.
I tried both the blackdown and the sun JRE 1.3.0_01.
I'm using mozilla M18 on a 6.1 red hat with an upgraded glibc.
Am I doing something wrong or is RSA certificate on Linux not enabled
or maybe a need to find a different browser?
thanks,
John
