I've installed the Blackdown 1.3.0 FCS and the Netscape Plugin that comes
with it. Additionally, I've installed the Java 3D 1.2 into the j2sdk1.3.0
directory.

When I run Netscape 4.76, it runs Java ok, and also the 3D demos that require
the Java Plugin, except Netscape has a problem when I leave a 3D applet page.
A subprocess diagnostics popup will appear saying that an exception has
occured in native code outside the VM. Otherwise, Netscape does everything
fine.

But when I run konqueror in KDE2, which is setup to use 1.3.0 FCS at diretory
/usr/local/j2sdk1.3.0, it is unable to run the 3D demos because appearently
it is unable to load the Java Plugin that they require. Konqueror is
supposed to be able to use whatever plugins Netscape has installed, and it
does successfully use the Flash plugin of Netscape 4.76. When I try to load a
3D demo applet with konqueror, first a KDE Krash SEGSIGV pops up:

The application unknown (nspluginviewer) crashed and caused a SIGSEGV signal
11 and gives me a backtrace:

After I ok this KDE Krash handler, a konqueror browser automatically opens
and goes to the java.sun.com Plug-in download page, and konqueror window, for
example when I load the ConicWorld/BoxExample 3D demo, is open and within a
grey applet box where the applet would have run, it says:

Unable to load Netscape Plug-in for file:
/usr/local/j2sdk1.3.0/demo/java3d/ConicWorld/BoxExample.class

Again, the 3d demos work in Netscape. They also run as applications by
running "java PickTest" or "appletviewer PickTest.html", for example.
Running it with "java" as an application has no problems at all but running
it with appletviewer gets this when I exit:

# # An unexpected exception has been detected in native code outside the VM.#
Program counter=0x48d83a0f
#
# Problematic Thread: prio=5 tid=0x8293e20 nid=0x2ad3 runnable
#
Aborted

This exception is what is also printed in the Netscape's subprocess
diagnostics when I run it as an applet with Netscape and then leave the page.
On leaving the page, I get the subprocess diagnostic message with above text.

Another problem I've seen with konqueror, and I've already reported it before
so sorry if this is redundant, but http://games.yahoo.com/ never works with
konqueror. The Java Console always says there is a Bag magic number when it
loads a game screen. Konqueror does work with some applets, like most of the
demo/applet demos that come with the Java SDK1.3.0, just the ones the need
the Java Plug-in and whatever causes Bad magic numbers don't work.

If anyone has any clues about any of this or wants me to provide more
detailed information about the circumstances of these problems, I'll collect
the information and send it to you.

My system is Slackware 7.1 (glibc 2.1.3), Qt 2.2.3, KDE 2.0.1 release,
XFree86 4.0.1 with nvidia 0.9-5 and Mesa 3.4 GLU / 3.7 glut. Lesstif 0.92.1,
as konqueror nsplugin requires, is installed in a default way (./configure
--prefix=/usr). Everything compiled and installed from source except glibc
that came with Slackware. My netscape is a fresh install of 4.76.
