Did u say u herd clicks ?
If u did, then i dont think that is an underrun problem. The kernel, on
underrun, actually keeps on feeding the device with silence.
The problem with that was the the number of bytes processed by the device, can
become larger that the numbers of bytes the pgm actually sent to the device.
This is a bug I reported.
Another mystery, was that the sound produced by one machine I was involved in,
only played back at half speed. It sounded normal, just that is was so
slowwwww.
But no clicks. Clicks, well, i not sure what the byte pattern would be if a
click occured.
