Please use j2re1.3 and j2sdk1.3 (which now is an add-on to the RE
package) from incoming.debian.org.  
The new packages install into /usr/lib/j2se/<major>.<minor> and
/usr/lib/j2se/<major>.<minor>/jre is a real directory.

We will move the packages onto our mirrors as soon as we have updated
the add-on packages (Java3D, JMF, ...).
