Hello,

Since the announcement of JudoScript, a few
folks asked the same question that many others
may also have:

There are already so many scripting languages
for Java, such as Rhino/JavaSciprt, J/Python,
Jacl/Tcl, Ruby, Jill, BeanShell, ..., why yet
another one? What's the compelling hook
  JudoScript has over others?

This is a good question. Before the work was
started, I had to ask myself this very question
many times until I was convinced that JudoScript
is so much better:

JudoScript is a 4GL-and-3GL, where others are
  mere 3GLs.

Nothing wrong with 3GLs (Java, C, Perl, Python,
...), but 4GL is how and why we script.

(Now I have a question: why bother to have so
many 3GL scripting languages? Shouldn't they
be more 4GL-like, that is, to have more
domain-specific constructs like those in
JudoScript, so that many complicated tasks can
be specified rather than programmed? isn't
this why we script?)

Anyway, I have prepared an answer at

    http://www.judoscript.com/faq.html#why
    http://www.judoscript.com

Feel free to check this out, and any comments
are welcome.

Thanks,
-James Huang
