Although this may be true, one can also say that SUN no longer gives 'others' any opportunities to port Java to other linux machines. For example it costed FreeBSD/JAVA some $3000 in ( their own ) legal costs to obtain a free license to distribute the java binaries. It also took a long time to obtain such a license.
