OK, first off, I'm clearly the newbie ;>
[1] We design and build several lean & mean Linux-based network objects, including firewalls and routers, all of which are currently running glibc 2.0.7 compiled applications. [2] We have a requirement to run a third party application (JAR) on these systems. We are told that this requires a minimum 1.1.8 java. [3] How can we accomplish this? [4] Size is a constraint! What is the smallest footprint that this can take? [5] As newbies, we are also novices with the appropriate nomenclature ;> We assume that what we are talking about is the JRE -- is that right? How can we catch up on the necessary terminology, short of becoming out and out java experts? What do you think? -- Best Regards, mds mds resource 888.250.3987 Dare to fix things before they break . . . Our capacity for understanding is inversely proportional to how much we think we know.
