Hello,
I am going to install the Familiar distribution on
my Ipaq (H3800), and I would like to know whether the Blackdown should be
installed on it, letting some free space after.
My Ipaq has 32 MB ROM and 64 MB RAM.
The Familiar will be installed with the minimal
required features for my application, like GPE, Samba, SSHD and PPPD,
and maybe some other little services.
I would like to write some apps using AWT (and
maybe swing but it depends on the limitations of the JVM), and communicating
with PCMCIA cards. I will also need JNI
For you, is Blackdown a good JVM for this
usage ? Which version of Blackdown do you advise to me ? What are the known
problems related to the display (awt) & the communications (pcmcia) for this
version of blackdown ?
Sorry for this big list of questions, but you may
answer partially to my request :)
Thank you in advance for your answers.
Best regards,
---
