I'm not sure that this is my problem, but I've been
wrong before!

My system is up to date and I'm running gcc 3.2
I downloaded Blackdown's JRE because mozilla's page
said that the SUN version crashes with mozilla
version.

I have found that running Blackdown's JRE causing my
system to hang when logging out to another user or
when I start other programs, ie.. gedit, open office.

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=90301

should be patched already in glibc although I haven't
checked
