Responsibilities: • Developing and executing formal test plans to ensure the delivery of quality software applications. • Involved in test planning, writing test cases/scripts, test case automation and test execution. • Defines and tracks quality assurance metrics such as defects, defect counts, test results and test status. • Collects and analyzes data for software process evaluation and improvements, and integrates them into business processes to address the needs of the business. • Documents all problems and assists in their resolution. • Delivers quality process training to technical staff and acts as an internal quality consultant to advise or influence business or technical partners. • Performs quality audits across the various IT functions to ensure quality standards, procedures and methodologies are being followed. Required Skills: Requires technical knowledge, training and understanding of a job's requirements. Typically possesses 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience. Critical Skills: Gain a good working knowledge of business requirements • What is your experience with Translating software specifications and business requirements into test cases? • Have you participate in design walk-through? • What is your experience in conducting all phases of testing (Functional, Regression, Access controls, Performance) using both manual and automated techniques? • What is your experience in Managing the lifecycle of a defect from discovery through resolution using defect tracking software? • What is your experience in managing multiple priorities and adjust to changing priorities? • What is your experience in Developing and maintaining various test artifacts including test matrices? • What is your experience with Interfacing with developers and project managers regarding software quality on a regular basis? • What is your experience with communicating project status to varying levels of management? Technical Skills Required • Tell me about your Knowledge of 1. Web and non web application architecture? 2. Working knowledge of Unix; 3. Experience with Oracle 10 G or higher; 4. Working knowledge of Automated Test tools (Compuware preferred); 5. Grey box testing experience; 6. Strong working knowledge of Excel and Word. Other Requirements • Computer Science Degree or equivalent work experience; • Ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously and produce high quality products; • Strong problem solving and analytical skills demonstrated by the ability to assimilate new information understand complex topics and arrive at sound analysis and judgment; • Test Management Capabilities a plus; • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills; • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; • Ability to collaborate with business clients; • Self-Motivated; • Keeps abreast of current technology trends; • Familiar with application development best practices; • Well-versed in the use of Microsoft Office Tools.
