Title: Oracle DBA Location: Marlborough, MA Duration: 3 Month In collaboration with the end-client, a DBA will be required to analyze the current SQL 2005 configuration, performance and usage behavior. The DBA will recommend and provide technical support for any improvements to support a VLDB implementation. The objectives of the proposed solution are described primarily by the following items: • Evaluate and provide detailed written recommendations for improvements on existing topology o Replication o Server/Disk o Database configuration o Backup/Recovery procedures • Evaluate and provide detailed written recommendations for improvement on any TSQL queries, stored procedures, functions or triggers where applicable. • Perform performance analysis and document overall database performance both before and after any changes are made to the configuration. • Assist in making sure all operator alerts work within SQL Server that identify situations such as replication latency or excessive locking. • Assist in providing data sizing estimates in current database for future expansion (assuming no archiving or purging) Recommend and provide any TSQL scripts necessary for common online housekeeping tasks such as index defragmentation • Make suggestions on diagnostic tools or methodologies to enable continuous monitoring of database health Regards, Monty Singh Technical Recruiter Ask IT Consulting You Ask We Deliver!
