Title: SAS Programmer with Actuarial Valuation/Life insurance Location: Wilmington, DE Duration: 6 Month Local consultants will be given an advantage Qualifications and Experience Required: • Bachelor’s degree in IT/MIS with a minimum of 5 years progressive experience in Information Technology (mainframe, mid-range, Intel platform) is preferred. • Minimum 7 years in IT/MIS with a minimum of 5 years progressive experience in Information Technology (mainframe, mid-range, Intel platform) will be accepted. • 3 years experience with relational databases and the use of Structured Query Language is required. • A proficient level of knowledge and experience with SAS programming is critical. • Basic skills in the handling of multiple file types, such as EBCIDIC and ASCII file types. • Basic knowledge on the subject of extract, transformation and load techniques. • Experience in development of project documentation, testing materials and execution, training materials, requirements gathering including downstream and upstream interface requirements and adhering to a project management methodology is a must. • Must be proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite of applications and possess the capability of producing • Basic professional-looking documentation, flowcharts, and proposals. • Understanding of international actuarial valuation processing and knowledge of various life insurance products is preferred. Knowledge of basic actuarial valuation standards and processes inclusive of first principles and tabular basis methodologies is extremely helpful. • Strong analytical background is required. • Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle is expected. Must be capable of modifying Duties and Responsibilities or enhancing applications in accordance with business requirements in a time • Document all frame appropriate to meet the needs of a Production environment. • Review and evaluate business modifications, enhancements and analysis. • Specifications to determine their feasibility, the time they will require, and prepare their compatibility with current systems and architecture standards. • Definition of functional problems and make recommendations for enhancements or Produce technical specifications and test modifications to deliver solutions. • Identify tasks required to complete an assignment and plans/test scripts. • Estimate the duration of those tasks for accurate project plan reporting. • Prepare project life cycle deliverables within expected time frame as specified • Effectively and professionally communicate with the by the project plan. • Finance Actuarial Department to identify and obtain requirements for financial • Work closely with existing Actuarial IT Support Staff and Actuarial reporting.
