Title: Dot net lead/developer/architect Location: Franklin, TN Duration: 9 months POSITION REQUIREMENTS: • This outsourced capability requires the skill, knowledge, and expertise of a contractor position will be an integral member of a small but elite team of technical development professionals charged with gathering business requirements, defining appropriate architectures, and developing both web and application pilot code that addresses agreed-upon solutions. • This individual will work across the organization and leverage existing technologies as well as creating ad hoc solutions that address proposed and perceived business requirements. • Moreover and, although developing R&D pilot code, the successful candidate must develop solutions that will ultimately capitalize on existing architectural platforms if and when these pilots are moved to a production state. • This position requires a broad knowledge of architecture and technology as it relates to design, development, and modeling. • The candidate for this position should have a detailed understanding of application architecture and its relationship and impact to the enterprise. • The successful candidate must be not only technically competent but also possess the creative talent to translate loosely-defined business expectations into functional prototypes that demonstrate the anticipated value and functionality. • Also, the individual must remain agnostic of technical tools and be removed from any biases around one platform vs. another. • Our goal is to develop solutions that work, independent of the tools required to support the development. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Provide creative yet functional pilot design recommendations based on proposed functional requirements. • Develop functional and quality pilot application code and custom integration solutions. • Leverage a variety of technical platforms/tools to provide functional and workable pilot solutions. • Provide technical expertise and guidance regarding the integration of both pilots and applications across the enterprise. • Determine specifications, propose solutions, recommend plans, and physically develop mission-critical pilot-based solutions that leverage technologies and helps promote the client as the premier leader of solutions from wellness through palliative care. • Develop creative yet functional state-of-the-art software engineering solutions either individually or I concert with the project team. • Assist in the support, maintenance, and debugging of complex software engineering pilot support problems. • Leverage skills, knowledge, and expertise, to provide suggestions, recommendations, and improvements to existing technical platform solutions. • Develop – where applicable - programming and development standards and procedures as well as programming architectures for intended code reuse. • Analysis of business capabilities and translation of these capabilities into logical and physical application models that meet organizational objectives. • Works with a cross functional team to help establish logical and physical application models, standards, processes, and procedures. • Provide technical application architecture reviews utilizing industry best practices and patterns. • Evaluate and recommend design and development tools as it pertains to application modeling and architecture. Provide insightful and credible technology advice which balances the functionality, costs, and risks of the suggested technologies. QUALIFICATIONS • Solid hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of state-of-the-art programming languages and object-oriented approaches in designing, coding, testing, debugging, and maintaining code. • Understands and consistently applies the attributes and processes of current application development methodologies. • Possesses strong technical and analytical skills required to diagnose, isolate, and resolve problems. • Strong project management skills and proven ability to communicate and collaborate with different audiences representing varied technical disciplines. • Solid knowledge of WPF using MVC (model view controller) patterns employing data-binding with domain model objects, along with solid knowledge of WCF. A good balance of knowledge between the two would be the ideal situation. • Knowledge and experience with IIS, WAS and familiarity with service oriented architectures. • Thorough understanding of object-oriented programming concepts. • Solid understanding of data access methodologies. • Familiarity with NHibernate and domain-driven design concepts a definite plus. Also, Coherence, Java, T-SQL/PL-SQL, and Oracle experience will be looked upon most favorably. • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and applications for servers and desktops, and laptops. • Solid understanding and experience in a corporate client/server environment which includes multiple operating systems, databases, and applications. • Self-motivated and customer-focused individual with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision as an integral member of a team in a productive, cooperative, supportive, and responsible manner. • Ability to manage multiple tasks, identify issues, and establish priorities. • Excellent inter-personal, communication, and troubleshooting skills required. • Must be able to work independently and with limited supervision in a fast-paced, explosive-growth environment. • Researches and maintains knowledge in emerging technologies and how they might be leveraged positively for the business. EDUCATION / RELEVANT EXPERIENCE: • 4 – 6+ years of application architecture design and architecture experience to include messaging, service oriented architecture, and modeling. Experience in UML, design patterns, and architecture frameworks are a definite plus. • 3+ years of architecture and developer experience in lead technical positions • Understanding of interoperability across technology boundaries • Ability to research emerging technologies and their relevance to overall enterprise architecture • Highly effective communication skills • 3+ years of Healthcare related experience a definite plus. • BS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or applicable technical discipline. Masters in applicable technical discipline preferred. POSITION EXPECTATIONS: • This contractor position will be staffed at the corporate headquarters in Franklin, TN and will work very closely with developers, architects, and other software engineering personnel across the entire enterprise. • Minimal if any travel requirements are anticipated for this role.
