Title: Technical Writer Location: Bellevue, WA Duration: 9 Months CTH The consultant should be EAD, USC or GC. And should be local. Manager's Notes: • This is a senior role. Please do not submit anyone with less than 5 years of solid technical writing experience, meaning they've held the title of 'technical writer' for those years. • Also looking for someone who has primarily held software writing positions for consumer audiences (as opposed to hardware or other non-software writing). • This person has to be highly technical - able to write for software administrator audience. • This is an on-site position in Bellevue, Washington - no telecommute option, so please only submit local candidates. • The interview process will be a phone screen followed by a face to face interview. • There is a potential for this position to be a temp to perm based on budget and performance. • Write manuals, online help, and quick reference cards for a SQL database product. • Work closely with the program manager, documentation lead, and other team writers to produce a cohesive, integrated documentation set that is consistent in style, presentation, and product messaging. • Perform substantive and copy edits of other writers' work, as well as your own. • Work with members of the product development and support teams (software engineers, testers, technical support engineers, program managers, and training staff) to gain an understanding of the product and to offer input on development of product features and usability issues. • Contribute to the team's understanding and use of modern methods for online help development.
