*Position 1 - **Senior Websphere Commerce Developer*

*DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
• Work as technical lead, architect, hands-on developer, and contributing
team member.
• Evaluate business and technical requirements in order to write and
implement technical specifications related to the company’s web initiatives.
• Work with other members of the Applications Development team to implement
technical specifications.
• Partner with functional groups both internal to Scholastic Technology
Service Group (e.g., project management, network operations) and external
vendors in order to provide tightly integrated solutions
• eCommerce application development employing J2EE and Microsoft standards
• Integrating vendor packages
• Database modeling and scripting
• System documentation
• Production defect repair and enhancements

POSITION OVERVIEW The Applications Development team is responsible for the
coding and integration of the various applications running on the diverse
web site. The team works closely with the Project Management Office on
approved scheduled projects : The Scholastic Technology Service online
environment consists of P690s running AIX, Websphere Application Server,
Websphere Commerce Server, and DB2. There is a storage area network (SAN)
based on IBM’s Shark and McData’s fabric switch. The Windows environment is
based on Intel servers and there is a legacy of Sun/Solaris, Oracle and ATG
applications. Networking and security are based on Cisco products. KEY
RELATIONSHIPS The Developer will cultivate working relationships with
various teams within the Technology Service Group and other divisions of
Scholastic. These include: • All members of the Scholastic Technology
