Kernel and device driver knowledge is a plus * Substantial experience in administering and performance-tuning Linux and Solaris * In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in DNS, NFS, LDAP, TCP/IP * Hands-on experience in storage for NAS and SAN * Strong knowledge in Shell, Perl, and C++ programming * Proven knowledge in system/application monitoring tools and technology * Strong oral and written communications skills * Ability to communicate technical proposals to supervisors and management * Fluent with MS suite of tools including MS Visio * Strong project management skills * Knowledge of database and major applications (Oracle, Siebel, SAP) is a plus * Solaris or RedHat certification is plus * ITIL Certification is a plus * Interaction: o This individual must work effectively with Staff to Vice President level employees within the function, across functions and with external parties. o Limited supervision and direction is provided, as this individual can operate and drive results and set priorities independently. o The ideal candidate will be a proactive contributor and subject matter expert.
