Title: Web/UI Developer
Location: San Jose, CA
Duration: 6+ months (project is on-going)

Consultant should be local to CA

Primary Job Responsibilities:
• Expertise in object oriented CSS, JavaScript, JSP, XSL, AJAX, and  XHTML 
• Develop and design the presentation layer of the website within an
XML/XSLT/JSP templating system, ensuring pages are programmed error-
free, cross-browser, cross-platform, and optimized for accessibility, page
load and performance
• Experience in working for an international, high availability, high volume
web site. 
• A strong passion for producing quality software and web user interface
• Prioritize workload to meet deadlines for assignments in the code release
schedule
• Stay current with the newest online technologies; research new
technologies and make recommendations on implementations
• Perform quality assurance on all new code from inception through
integration, staging and production environments
• Collaborate effectively with design, product and back end engineering
teams; provide technical advice and guidance about web design, browser
limitations and web technology
• Ability to thrive under pressure and deliver in a fast paced multi-project
environment
 
Job Requirements:
• Min. of 5 years professional Internet work experience
• Ability to demonstrate previous work experience via URLs
• Strong attention to detail
• Proven problem-solving and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to operate effectively both independently as well and within a
team
• Knowledge of cross-browser, cross-platform, and design constraints on the
web
• Mastery of Browser based technologies (HTML, Javascript, AJAX, CSS, etc.)
• Experience with XML technologies (XSLT, XPATH, XML, etc.)
• Experience with a Version Control system (CVS, Clearcase, GIT, Safe
Source, etc.)
• Experience with JAVA technologies (JSP, J2EE, Taglibs, Spring, Struts,
Velocity, etc.)
• Prior work experience on a large e-commerce site
• Good understanding of SDLC. 
• Working knowledge of PC, UNIX, and Mac environments
 
NOTES
Qualifiers:
• UI Developer candidates must be able to show work through URLs or
portfolio.
• Ideally the candidates should have many web urls of projects they have
worked on.
• Should have incredible XSLT, XML, JavaScript and CSS skills.
 
Apart from the job description some unique qualities we are looking for in
this hire:
• In depth knowledge of design software (Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash,
etc.)
• Would love to see a high degree of ability in creating schemas or object
models.
• Should be open to debate, but not argumentative.
