The primary responsibility of the QA Analyst is to participate in
Requirements/Design/Code reviews, develop test plans, test cases, automate
tests, execute tests, track defects, identify risks, and communicate status
to ensure that IT-ROPS meets specified business requirements. The QA
Analyst is also expected to identify opportunities to improve the
development and QA processes. The QA Analyst supports several products and
projects and often works with personnel in other departments to complete
assignments and is expected to become the functional expert on these
products.
*Job Functions:*
Review requirements and design documents to ensure adequate understanding to
develop test cases.
Develop product based testing strategies
Determine test environment and test data requirements
Develop test plans and cases based on various levels of requirements details
Estimate effort required to perform QA activities
Document and elevate risks when appropriate
Develop automated test cases based on value and return on investment
Execute tests, track defects, and perform root cause analysis
Mine for data, backend validation, and perform data quality analysis via SQL
Provide recommendations to streamline and improve processes
Mentor co-workers of the proper application of automated tests within a
structured QA approach (QA Automation)
Educate others outside of QA on the value of a structured QA approach
Document status and final reports for QA activities
Coordinate and communicate with IT resources across the US to complete
assigned projects
*QA Analyst - Qualifications/Skills Required:*
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent
experience
5+ years of experience in structured QA practices
Strong analytical skills
Proficiency in requirements analysis and reviews
Expert knowledge and skills in developing test plans and test cases
Excellent documentation skills
Well versed with various types of testing in various environments.
Ability to interact with developers and understand technical design.
Good understanding of database design and experience writing SQL
queries.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Experience and skills in mentoring co-workers
Experience in educating others on the value of structured QA practices
Ability to manage multiple priorities
Experience working with billing and A/R systems is preferred
Ability to produce high quality work with limited supervision
Strong experience using HP Quality Center
Healthcare industry experience is preferred*
