* Position: Power Quality Lead*

Locations: base location either IL, TX or NJ.
Rate: $ 40/hr

*Role Summary / Purpose:*

The Power Quality Lead (PQL) is a senior contracting role within the NSP
Power Quality Group.  This contractor role will be an expert in providing
service to the power quality products that we support:  Uninterruptable
Power Supplies (UPS: (20kVA – 750kVA), Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS)
variable frequency drives (VFD), remote operated circuit breaker panels
(ROCB), and will assist our Industrial Services Team on power delivery
outages and other services.  The PQL will also assist the NSP Program
Manager by acting as Team Lead acting as first level escalation point and
helping to provide day-to-day technical support on the power quality
products that we support.

*Essential Responsibilities:*



·         Power Quality Service – Utilize electrical test equipment,
technical manuals, electrical schematics, and technical support to perform
start-up & commissioning, troubleshooting, and perform preventative
maintenance on GE Digital Energy brand UPS's (25kVa - 750kVa), variable
frequency drives, and ROCB panels.

·         Industrial Service (Switchgear Maintenance): Work with power
delivery field engineers to assist with the cleaning, testing,
troubleshooting, and maintenance of LV / MV switchgear.

·         Team Lead – Provide technical support to NSP Power Quality Team on
power quality products.  Act as level one support point in resolving
escalations.  Assist NSP Program Manager on daily issues.

·         Administrative – Use online tools and test sheets to document work
performed and submit for review.  Engage schedulers and travel planners to
plan jobs and book travel.



* Qualifications / Requirements*



·         4-year degree in engineering, preferably electrical engineering.

·         5+ years previous experience servicing (installing /
troubleshooting): UPS’s, ATS, PSG, panel boards, low/medium voltage circuit
breakers, relays, programming variable frequency drives, or other comparable
electrical distribution products.

·         Ability to travel 50%+ of the time in/out of geographic area.

·         Experience working in a customer service environment.

·         Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and meet
key deadlines.

·         Effective oral and communication skills.

·         1-3 years experience managing field service engineers.

·         Military background.

·         Excellent PC Skills – Specifically MS Office Suite: Outlook,

 The Power Quality Technician (PQT1) is an entry-level, contractor role
within the NSP Power Quality Group.  This contractor will be skilled in
providing service to GE Digital Energy Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS:
20kVA – 750kVA) and Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS).  The PQT1 will
normally work independently at customer sites and will be required to travel
in excess of 80% of the time both in/out of their geographic area.
