Symbian or Windows)

Mobile Application job description:



• Mobile Application Developers give direction to Designers in regards to
mobile development standards and best practices.

• Works as project team member to develop mobile applications, as well as
syndication feeds.  Mobile development tasks include coding, testing,
debugging, documenting, peer-reviewing, deploying, monitoring, and support.
All tasks are performed in accordance with industry best practices and
specific internal procedures and standards.

• Works with internal departments to provide associated deliverables
required for the successful completion of development and maintenance
assignments.

• Maintenance and support of existing templates and content production
processes – this assures that our processes are functioning correctly.

• Spends time learning new skills and enhancing existing ones.

• Contributes to task identification, work effort estimates, and work
schedules for development and maintenance activities.

• General Expectations

o Proficient at writing code.  Consistently meet or exceed deadlines on
programming projects.  Scoping of projects.  Assist in maintaining
operational queue.  Clear upward communication to Seniors, Leads, Chiefs and
Management.  Research new technologies; provide ideas for technical or
workflow / process improvements.

*Qualifications***

• Skills important to success:  XCode, Objective C, Java, SQLite, Advanced
HTML, JavaScript, AJAX, CSS, Flash, Silverlight, XML, XSLT and a strong
foundation in enterprise level Internet technologies. Unix and IP
troubleshooting skills. Experience testing and troubleshooting for mobile
browsers. Experience with web analytics and ad integration.

• College degree required. At least 3-5 years of previous experience
building mobile applications and mobile web sites for iPhone, iPad, Android,
Blackberry, Symbian or Windows Mobile is required. Experience with a
large-scale web site is a plus. Expertise in Objective C, Java, MVC
frameworks like Spring or Struts, HTML, JavaScript and CSS is required, and
experience with phone camera, GPS, compass and accelerometer is preferred.
Candidates must provide samples of work.

• Monitoring and updating Change Request & trouble tickets for new &
existing mobile portal changes.

• A good understanding of mobile handsets, browsers & technologies would be
beneficial.

• Candidate must show an aptitude for detail. They should display leadership
skills such as taking proper responsibility, pursuing solutions to problem,
displaying resourcefulness towards accomplishing given task or goals.  They
must exhibit an ability to focus on mundane functions of their job, as well
as being self-motivated to learn new skills in order to accomplish new
tasks.
