*Job Title: *Sr. Java Programmer Analyst** *Location: *San Antonio, TX** *Duration: *12 months** * * * * * * * * *Job Description:* The Programmer / Analyst roles work as part of a team responsible for new application development and/or improving existing applications to meet the changing needs of our business. Specific assignments may include application design and development, coding for enhancements and fixes, testing, maintenance and support. Base level of programming competency is required and may be specific to C++, JAVA, NOTES, .Net, C#, PowerBuilder, Smalltalk, or other as identified by the actual open position. *Knowledge and Skill Requirements:* • General knowledge of the securities industry and investment banking specific businesses. • Thorough knowledge of investment banking specific businesses and business processes. • Advanced knowledge of programming language(s), software development tools and environment(s)and systems analysis and functional design. • General knowledge of database design and database concepts. • Advanced knowledge of application design principles, practices, system development methodologies and software life cycles. • Thorough knowledge of project/task estimation and planning. • Thorough knowledge of software change control procedures. • General knowledge of documentation and training. • Demonstrated ability to participate in all phases of application software development. • Demonstrated ability to lead some phases of application software development. • Demonstrated ability to evaluate user needs or specifications and translate them in a logical and practical set of software components. • Demonstrated ability to direct the activities of programmers and programmer/analysts within a project. • Acquires and effectively demonstrates any additional knowledge and skill requirements as requested. *Expectations:* • Maintains and consistently demonstrates a general knowledge of company guidelines, processes, practices and procedures. • Gathers user requirements and performs systems analysis (possibly in conjunction with business system analysts). • Develops system designs to meet user requirements (examples might include program designs, database designs, and window designs). • Identifies and resolves issues between systems design and technical feasibility. • Code and unit tests application programs and modules. • Plans, develops, conducts and leads systems tests. • Provides some leadership in the design and development of application /technical architectures. • Prepares/moves application programs from development to production in controlled manner. • Develops documentation and other materials supporting application programs. • For routine and complex production problems, troubleshoots, researching symptoms, analyzing impacts and implementing solutions. • Provides leadership in determining scope and participates in recommending priorities for system changes. • Leads on-going evaluation of system functions and design and identifies areas for improvement. • Provides on-call coverage to application programs as needed to support business operations. • Prepares and distributes status reports and other updates to users and management. • Communicates actively with users on systems status, including system changes, problems, enhancements, and potential impacts. • Participates actively in all, and in some cases leads certain, aspects of project management and control. • Coordinates some user meetings: - Schedules meetings - Participates in, and sometimes leads, meeting discussions - Assists team members in preparing for meetings - Summarizes and communicates outcomes to users and management. • Coordinates some team meetings: - Schedules meetings - Leads discussion and resolution of issues. • Participates in the development and training of team members. • Keeps abreast of new technology through continued education and training. • Constructively contributes in team and department meetings and training opportunities. • Performs other work as required or requested as well as additional assignments. *Desired Attributes:* · Should strong Java skills , Oracle Weblogic, Autosys, Eclipse, JSP etc · Knowledge of developing crystal reports · Actuate skills - nice to have · Informatica skills - nice to have Thanks N' Regards, Vikram M** Revosys IT Inc.** 108-31, 47th Avenue, Corona, NY 11363 Ph: 347 468 7163 | Fax: 347 649 2053 [email protected] | www.revosysIT.com <http://www.revosysit.com/> -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Java Tech Group" group.
