Job Role: Senior Software Engineer (*Travel* Backend) Duration: 2 years Contract Work Location: Foster City, CA. Interview Mode: Telephonic Responsibilities: Needs to have exp with Travel applications. Your role will be to develop and maintain online *travel* applications serving the business and consumer loyalty market. As a senior contributor in the engineering organization, you will own the architecture, design, and implementation of these applications and will be responsible for delivering new capabilities in a timely manner with high quality. The success of this position will be measured by the usability, quality, and timeliness of the applications. You will have autonomy and responsibility for the following: * Partnering with product management, QA, and services delivery to understand business requirements and translate them into high quality solutions. * Design and develop a world class *travel* user experience. * Write robust unit and component tests and be proactive in developing testability features for QA. * Identify and fix bugs, particularly non-obvious ones, and trouble-shoot production issues. * Mentor less senior developers on best practices in design, code, and unit testing. Qualifications: * Typically 5+ years *java* web development experience. * Experience with enterprise *java* technologies including Spring, Hibernate, ActiveMQ. * Experience building and interacting with REST and SOAP web services. * Fast learner, able to pick up new ideas and approaches quickly.
