The primary responsibilities include: -Review and analyze system specifications to determine whether all required elements have been included. -Consult with clients to gather information about program needs, objectives, functions, features, and input and output requirements. -Analyze, define, and document requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, compliance, and outputs. -Use programming languages to code computer instructions from Business Requirements and System Designs. -Utilize any special programming techniques necessary to achieve the most effective program. -Test and debug computer programs. -Modify existing programs to conform to system changes or to make improvements in the existing program. -Advise and work with user departments to resolve specific problems or make changes in programs, computer applications, capabilities, alternative programming approaches, limitations, etc. -Write and maintain documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, testing, changes, and corrections. -Monitor performance of programs after implementation. -Cross-train as back-up for development and maintenance. -End-end incident tracking and client follow-up, including post mortem. MAIN WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: -Application Support team -Development teams -Relationship and Implementation Managers -Operations and Data Center teams OTHER SOFT SKILLS/INTANGIBLES: Hiring Manager requires a candidate that has done complex interface design. They are not looking for a head's down .NET developer, though these skills would be desirable if possessed by a resource who has done interface work. Must possess MS SQL Server back-end development as well as front end development expertise. The job holder uses existing and emerging technology platforms to design, develop and document technically detailed interfaces for distributed applications. S/he writes new complex systems (a grouping of programs involving multiple levels of table dimension and internal sorts that accomplishes a particular new function), designs and codes programs and creates test transactions. S/he also analyzes organizational needs and goals to develop and implement interfaces for distributed application systems. Job Scope: - The individual uses existing and emerging technology platforms to design development and document detailed distributed applications. - S/he writes new interface complex programs; designs and codes programs and creates test transactions for full implementation into production Responsibilities: - Develop in all phases of the programming life cycle: code, debug, design, document, implement, maintain, and test. Prepare and maintain documentation including system documentation, user manuals and operations manuals. - Design, develop and implement software interface applications as defined by the assigned project. - Apply systems and programming design concepts to fully understand the extent of problems and how they impact the customer's business. - Conduct complete system tests and optimize for system performance and efficiency and develop test data and test applications as needed. - Work with customers to resolve any issues relating to software applications (custom or 3rd party).
