*Location*: Louisville, KY (Linn Station Road) *Duration : *6 Months** *Reporting *: Manager of Data Services *POSITION SUMMARY:*** The DBA is expected attentive to details & a self-starter. The Database Administrator (DBA) is required to understand business & technical requirements & to develop appropriate database solutions for to solve performance, security, reliability & availability requirements. *ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO : * *Provide DBA support for a range of Database Administration activities including :* - Performance monitoring & tuning - Debugging - Documentation - Capacity planning - Data modeling - Database system software patch & release application - Creating users & security configuration - Physical database design & implementation - Database configurations include Oracle 10g, RAC, SQL Server & My SQL - Reviews SQL code to ensure scalability & efficiency - Disaster recovery support - Provide 24x7 on call support - Provides recommendations regarding enhancements &/or improvements to the technical environment & processes. *PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS : * - BS in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education & experience - 5+ years of experience in similar position - Experience with data warehousing tools & techniques - Experience with business intelligence tools - Experience with Oracle RAC - Expert ability to develop cron jobs, Unix shell scripting - Working knowledge of managing SQL Server Databases (MS SQL 2005, 2008) - Experience with Microsoft DTS, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS a plus - Ability to work effectively with peers & customers - Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously - Solid analytical skills - Adaptable to a rapidly-changing work environment Thanks & Regards, *Gaurav Seth* ITECS *IT & EBusiness Consulting Services Inc.* Ph: 516.499 6042 | Fax: 347 602 9084/866 515 6599 *[email protected]* | www.itecsus.com -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Java Tech Group" group.
